Do you need cover?  Term insurance, sometimes called term assurance, can be used to pay off a mortgage, if your mortgage is being repaid you may want decreasing cover, if it is on an interest only basis perhaps you could choose level cover. Life insurance can be used to replace a lost income so the survivor can afford to pay day-to-day expenses. The protection can be used to plan for leaving family members some money too. Also, If you die, the death benefit may be invested and potentially grow to the needed amount for your childrens' school and university fees.

Do you need cover now?  Everything else being equal, the younger you are the cheaper the life cover, so if it is needed, apply straight now.

*A rebate equal to 6 months premiums will be credited to your account after 12 months with a futher payment equal to 6 months after the plan has been running for 24 months. If the plan is cancelled before these times then no payment will be made.
